Start Your All-on-X Treatment

The decision to restore your smile with All-on-X dental implants carries weight beyond the procedure itself. Starting your treatment before the end of the year can position you for a better financial outcome, allowing you to take advantage of current insurance benefits and maximize any remaining flexible spending account or health savings account dollars that may otherwise disappear.

At Complete Dentistry, Dr. David Crumpton helps patients in Trophy Club take this important step with confidence. With over 28 years of experience providing comprehensive care, our team guides you through every phase of your All-on-X treatment, from initial consultation through final restoration.

Should I Go Ahead and Start my All-on-X Treatment Before the End of the Year?

Timing is crucial when you’re considering All-on-X treatment, and many patients wonder if they should start their new smile before ringing in the new year. The resounding answer is yes, having options or being a candidate for the procedure is time sensitive based on the decline of oral health.  There is no reason to be concerned about downtime during the holiday season. With proper planning and scheduling, we can begin to plan your transformation ,and you can enjoy your new look within 6 to 8 weeks from now.

All-on-X treatment typically requires six to eight weeks from your initial planning session to receiving your temporary smile. This timeline includes your comprehensive evaluation, treatment planning, surgery, and placement of temporary prosthetics. Starting your journey now gives you the best opportunity to start the new year enjoying your new smile and better health.

Understanding the All-on-X Timeline

The All-on-X process begins with a thorough consultation where we evaluate your oral health, take advanced imaging, and create your personalized treatment plan. This initial appointment typically takes place within a few days of your first contact with our office. During this visit, we’ll determine if you’re a candidate for immediate placement and discuss your specific timeline goals.

At your consultation and start of planning, we schedule your surgery date, which usually occurs within 6 business weeks from records. The actual All-on-x placement procedure takes just one day. During this appointment, we remove any remaining teeth if necessary, place four to six implants strategically in your jaw, and attach your temporary teeth the same day.

Why Now Is Your Deadline

Starting your All-on-X journey any later than mid-November significantly reduces the likelihood of completing your actual procedure before the new year or extending the planning time due to holidays. However, the beginning of the year is a great time to start fresh. The healing process after implant placement cannot be rushed, as your body needs time to begin integrating the implants with your jawbone. In most cases, your temporary prosthetics are placed for you to enjoy at your procedure or the following day.  You wear these during the initial healing phase, which typically takes four to six weeks

Holiday schedules also affect treatment timing. Dental offices often have limited availability during Thanksgiving week and the last two weeks of December. Planning ahead ensures you secure the necessary appointments without competing for limited holiday scheduling slots.

Financing options like Proceed Finance and Care Credit’s 6-month zero-percent interest plans and CareCredit’s extended payment plans upto 60-months make it possible to begin treatment immediately without waiting for tax refunds or bonus payments. Starting now means you’ll already be several months into your payment plan by the time the new year arrives, with your beautiful new smile already in place.

The Advantages of Winter Treatment

Winter timing for All-on-X offers several benefits beyond holiday deadlines. The cooler months naturally encourage more indoor activities and rest, which supports optimal healing. Many patients find it easier to maintain the soft food diet required during initial healing when comfort foods like soups and smoothies are seasonally appropriate.

Professional schedules often slow down in December, making it easier to take time off for your procedure and initial recovery. Unlike summer vacations or spring activities, winter recovery allows you to emerge with your new smile just as social activities increase in the new year.

What Happens If You Wait?

Delaying your All-on-X treatment until after the holidays means missing important occasions with your new smile. January brings packed dental schedules as patients use new insurance benefits, potentially pushing your treatment start date into February or March. This delay means you won’t enjoy your complete smile transformation until late spring.

Oral health conditions requiring All-on-X treatment rarely improve with time. Postponing treatment can lead to additional bone loss, making the procedure more complex and potentially requiring bone grafting and/or making one not a candidate at all. Acting now preserves your existing bone structure and may simplify your treatment process.
